Christopher Herzog holds a PhD from the University of Salzburg, Austria, where he is currently working as a Senior Scientist in the field of literary studies at the Department of English and American Studies. He was a member of the Research Network Cultural Dynamics (2013-2020) of the Austrian Research Association (ÖFG). In his PhD thesis, "Renegotiating Concepts of Human Consciousness in Contemporary British Neuroscience Plays", he focused on the representation of human consciousness and the theatrical estrangement of neuroscientific knowledge in modern British drama. He has presented papers and published articles on ecotrauma, science drama and science fiction, and is co-editor (with Sabine Coelsch-Foisner) of the interdisciplinary volumes Transmedialisierung / Transmedialisation (2019), Visualisierung: Bildwissen – Wissensbilder (2020), and For Sale! Kommodifizierung in der Gegenwartskultur (2021).
